New 2020 Skoda Octavia revealed with plug-in hybrid
Octavia being Skoda’s best seller is going to be unveiled as fourth generation with a lot of technology updates and also a plug in hybrid version.
Ocatvia is called as the heart and engine of SKoda. Since the release in 1996, more than 6 million Ocatavia been sold and running successfully thus making it one of the top volume brand.
And the upcoming Mk4 version is going to featuring enhanced interior space and comfort and greater levels of safety. It is expected to start the sale from the mid 2020.
A plug in hybrid option is going to be available for the first time in Octavia. It is going to be powered by a 1.4-litre engine and a 101bhp electric motor. For a combined 201bhp and 34mile completely electrical range and 0.62mph in 7seconds, it is fitted with a six speed DSG dual clutch gearbox.
The new Ocatavia resembles the Skoda Superb. However the bumper is enhanced to have a sharp and redesigned front end.It also features a full matrix LED units.At the back, the tailgate edging is completely remodelled for the latest trend and instead of the logo, it has SKODA lettered on it which definitely adds extra charm to the Ocatvia.
Octavia has not only got its exterior updated, but also the interior cabin. It features an elegant design with the Ergo seats which provides massage and better ventilation. This is fitted for the first time in on Octavia.
Coming to the technology, Skoda has always been known for its technology. This fourth generation is even more enhanced by using Drive by wire technology for the DSG gear system. Skoda has updated the safety features such as collision avoidance and assistance during the turns, predicting cruise control, predictive pedestrian and so on. The infotainment unit is going to be around 8.5 to 10 inches featuring the gesture control for the first time. It has a eSIM connectivity and also an option of USB C type cable.
Prices will be anounced in the next year,but Skoda always appears valuable for the price paid.
